Design Rationale

The arms of the Society of American Armigers is devised as blazoned and emblazoned to show the blue (Azure) of the field of stars in the American Flag, the red (Gules) of the stripes of that same flag. The thirteen white (Argent) stars in annulo, represent the 13 stars of the original colonies of America, and the open book represents the registry. The bald eagle represents another symbol of America, his collar of laurel represents the assumption of arms, and the quill in his beak alludes to recording of those arms.
