Design Rationale:
The quarters with the eagle were granted to the van Stuijvenberg family in the mid-18th century. The rationale for the Cornielje arms are only with regards to the colors white and red/Argent and Gules, these are the same as the arms of the cities of Lile and Leiden.
The van Stuijvenberg arms are taken over from the van Wolfswinckel family after the mariage of Otto van Stuijvenberg with a member of this family. The van Wolfswinckel family received the arms through descent of the noble van Rijningen family.
